For those in the know, “Watch Out Deh Now” is more than a heed to action, it’s the trademark catcall for funnyman J. Anthony Brown. As the co-host of the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show, J. Anthony Brown can now add artist to his long list of talents. The accomplished artist has had the privilege of exhibiting his pieces along side Annie Lee, a famous African-American artist.

Brown first brought a sketchpad with him to work on the Tom Joyner Morning Show to pass time by doodling; he never thought that his “doodle art” would be shared with the public. With the encouragement of his son, Terrell Rivers Vice President of Merchandising for J. Anthony Brown, he began to display his art pieces around his home and as a special gift gave them to his close friends & family. Soon his colleagues, musicians and celebrity friends took notice of his creative talent and inquired about purchasing his art.

To prove that J. Anthony Brown is really into art, at his first showing when asked by a lady what was his medium? Brown replied, “I wear an extra large”, if you’re into art you’ll get that joke laughs Brown. Using colored pencils, coal and chalk to sketch his designs; he describes his art as definitely abstract, leaving much to imagination.

Brown’s artwork has been featured in one of the episodes of the short-lived
television series “Like Family”, where he played Pop to Holly Robinson-Peete’s character. Bishop Blake of West Angeles Church of God and Christ in Los Angeles, CA loves his “Praise Dancer” piece, which he named personally. Brown’s sketch, “Club Night”, was used for the album cover of the great Jazz musician Clifton “Showtime” DeMarks. Also, Brown’s artwork can be seen on his upcoming accessory line, cufflinks and cardholders.

Brown’s artwork has been exhibited around the country in Washington, DC, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and now on the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage cruise.
